Morganton Internal Medicine was started in 1982 to provide Internal Medicine care for the residents of the Morganton area.

David S. Abernathy, MD

Dr. Abernathy has lived in the Morganton area since 1982.  He is married with two daughters.  He graduated from Duke University Medical School and the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a member of the American College of Physicians, NC Medical Society, and Burke County Medical Society.  He joined Morganton Internal Medicine in 1983.

Miranda Hannah, MD

Miranda Hannah, MD, has joined the staff of Morganton Internal Medicine. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and completed her internship at Conway Medical Center and her residency at McLeod Family Medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association.  Her clinical interests include chronic disease management and sports medicine. When not working, Dr. Hannah enjoys reading, hiking, and learning languages.
