A Message From Our President & CEO
What defines UNC Health Blue Ridge? Taking care of you and your family.
Welcome to your community hospital. Together, our locations in Morganton and Valdese have been serving people throughout our area for nearly 175 years. We are honored that you and your physician have entrusted your care to us, as have generations before.
In 1999, our two hospitals partnered to create a single community health system called Blue Ridge HealthCare. Then, in 2014, the system unveiled its new name as Carolinas HealthCare System Blue Ridge to reflect the deeper integration of its previous affiliation with Carolinas HealthCare System, now Atrium Health.
In October of 2021, we dissolved our partnership with Carolinas HealthCare System and entered into a partnership with UNC Health.
A Board of Directors made up of local citizen volunteers oversees UNC Health Blue Ridge.
We are committed to making it possible for you to receive most of the healthcare you will need, right here in your backyard. Our medical technology is state-of-the-art. Our facilities are modern, attractive and convenient. Our key services reflect the community’s most widespread medical issues: heart disease, cancer, digestive diseases, bone and joint disease, diabetes and women’s health. Physicians in more than 30 specialties serve on our Medical Staff.
We will do our best to anticipate your needs, but please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your visit more pleasant or address concerns you may have. We look forward to being of service.
Kathy C. Bailey,
President & CEO of UNC Blue Ridge
